Monsignor James Canon McShane KCHS STL LSS McShane The family of the late Monsignor James McShane, formerly Parish Priest of St Margaret's RC Church, Sinclair Street, Clydebank wish to express their sincere thanks to all who sympathised with them in their recent sad bereavement. To all who attended the removal, Funeral Mass and burial, all who sent Mass cards, sympathy cards, letters, floral tributes, also all those who phoned and sent emails. Our sincere thanks to Archbishop Philip Tartaglia, Archbishop Emeritus Mario Conti, Father Aidan Martin, Canon Gerard Tartaglia, Father Paul Gargaro and all his priest colleagues who came out in tremendous numbers to celebrate his Requiem Mass. Monsignor McShane lived at St Margaret of Scotland Hospice in his retirement for over 8 years and was lovingly cared for by Sister Rita and all her staff. To Dr Guy Haworth and Professor John Welsh for their friendship, kindness, compassion and loving support. To Rev Frank Flynn for his friendship and support to Monsignor over many years. Monsignor knew everyone individually and was very popular, much loved figure throughout the Hospice. He continued his priestly ministry until his final day on earth. To the Knights of the Holy Sepulchre for their attendance. Also to Father G Fitzpatrick and the choir for the beautiful music. To Tony Docherty of T. & R. O'Brien for his attention to detail. To the Hospice staff for the Guard of Honour the evening before and on the day of the Funeral. To Strathclyde Police for their assistance with funeral cortege. Please accept this acknowledgement as a token of our sincere appreciation. The Holy Sacrifice of the Mass will be offered for all your intentions.
