RIVER HORROR
By Dumbarton Reporter Newsroom
Another body is pulled from the water just days after double drowning tragedy
The incident came three days after two young men drowned up stream at Balloch after going for a swim.
At the time of going to press it had not been revealed whether Sunday’s tragic episode on the waterway was the another drowning or something more sinster.
A post mortem will need to be carried out before this is known.
Sunday’s drama began after the floating corpse was spotted in the river by a member of the public at 11am near Ballantynes Distillery.
Police, fire brigade and the coast guard were all involved in recovering the remains of the unidentified victim.
A police spokesperson told the Reporter that enquiries regarding the man's identity were underway and a post mortem would be carried out.
