Area's doctors treat 'agonising' burns
As the temperatures soared hundreds of sun worshippers flocked to the area's open spaces, but many were putting their kids at risk by not doing enough to protect them from the harmful rays.
This week Dr Patrick Trust, of Alexandria Medical Centre, sent out a stark warning to parents to make sure their kids are protected with enough sunscreen.
He said: `There has been a lot of kids in with horrible sunburn this last week.
“Some people still do not realise that they can get badly burnt in Dumbarton just as easily as in Spain.`
