'Sickening' fight posted on website
SHOCKING footage of school pupils fighting in a field has appeared on the internet — just weeks after education bosses warned parents of the dangers of mobile phone misuse.
The violent two minute video — seemingly recorded on a onlooker's mobile — shows two Vale of Leven Academy pupils punching and kicking each other.
More than 40 other uniformed pupils watch the fight and egg on the participants, with one shouting `hit him harder`.
The `sickening` footage came to light just a fortnight after the director of Education and Cultural Services at West Dunbartonshire Council (WDC) sent a letter to all school pupils’ parents explaining strict new guidelines on the use of mobiles in schools.
A spokesperson for WDC said: `The Department of Education and Cultural Services takes the view that such incidents, which appear to be becoming more widespread throughout the country, are entirely unacceptable and will offer schools any appropriate support in preventing their recurrence.`
The video, which appears on controversial website YouTube, has already been viewed more than 1,000 times.
