ASBO YOBS PROTECTED BY NO NAME POLICY
By Kirsteen Paterson
A COUPLE who were driven to despair by a neighbour from hell have backed calls for people with ASBOs to be named and shamed.
Rachel Daly and her husband John were forced to leave their Brucehill home after a campaign of violence and abuse from one neighbour, who was handed a five-year Anti-social Behaviour Order (ASBO) in October 2005.
Rachel says her the woman’s harassment and ear-splitting music almost drove her to suicide.
She said: `She made our lives miserable. No one else would stand up to her. She has taken my life away.`
The Reporter has a list of suspected ASBO carriers living in Dumbarton and the Vale but cannot reveal their identities because WDC refuse to confirm or deny that they have ASBOs.
A spokesperson stated that identifying them `without their consent` would not be `appropriate` and could even breach the Data Protection Act.
But those victimised by anti-social thugs say the rules `protect` bullies.
Rachel added: `These people must be named and shamed. People should know who they've got next door to them. These hooligans are terrorising people.`
