TEEN TERROR GETS ASBO THEN JAIL

AN ASBO teen and her sidekick — who carried out a mini crime wave between them — are finally off the streets.

Stephanie Barr — who was slapped with an Anti-Social Behaviour Order (ASBO) before being caged last week — and Danielle Ward, both 17, appeared in court on a range of disorder charges.

The pair have been a menace to the community over a period dating back months.

Earlier in the week West Dunbartonshire Council successfully applied for an ASBO to be put on Barr, which prevents her from entering a large section of her Alexandria stomping ground.

Then on Friday Barr appeared at Dumbarton Sheriff Court on charges of assault, breach of the peace, breach of probation and seven bail breach charges.

Her partner-in-crime Ward also appeared in relation to an assault and a breach of the peace charge.

Ward also breached both probation and tagging orders and managed to damage the inside of a marked police car by kicking it. Barr and Ward pled guilty to their respective charges.

Fiscal depute Paul Ayre first told how the baby-faced teens carried out an assault at Balloch Road, Balloch, on December 4 last year.

On this day, Barr headbutted a woman.

Meanwhile, during the same incident, Ward `lashed out` at another woman, repeatedly kicking her on the head and body, seizing her by the hair and pulling her to the ground.

Mr Ayre also gave details of another more recent incident, which took place at Main Street, Alexandria, on April 17 this year.

On this occasion, Barr and Ward shouted, swore and struggled with police officers before Ward later damaged a police car by kicking it.

Sheriff Simon Pender sentenced Barr to a total of 10 months detention for her offences while Ward was detained for seven months and 70 days.

The sentences on Ward, of 1 Bannachra Crescent, Alexandria, and Barr, of 45-47 Braehead, Bonhill, were backdated to April 18 this year.

Barr’s ASBO prevents her from entering 98-100 Main Street, Christie Park, Gray Street, and the Preparation of Life Project at 28 Bridge Street, all Alexandria.
