MUM'S TEARS FOR TRAGIC BIKER SON
By David Clegg
A GRIEVING mother has paid tribute to her son who tragically died last week following a road accident.
Loving father Frank Brand passed away in hospital on Wednesday as a result of injuries he sustained when his motorbike collided with a car on Luss Road, Alexandria.
His heartbroken mum Margaret this week told the Reporter of her son’s two great loves — his motorbike and his eleven-year-old daughter Nicole.
She said: `He was the most gentle giant everyone knew. His love of bikes was his life, but his daughter Nicole came first. Not only was he good to everyone, he took a place in the heart of everybody he met.
`At all times, when people met him he put a smile on their face, even strangers.
“He will never be gone, he will always be in the hearts of the people he touched.`
Margaret added that his love of bikes had started at a very early age.
Frank, whose passion for bikes had led him to work as a mechanic, was travelling to work at around 10.35am on Wednesday June 6 when the fatal accident occurred.
He was rushed to the RAH in Paisley where he was treated for “critical” injuries.
Margaret said: `He loved bikes since he was a kid and he always said if he was killed he would die on his bike with a smile on his face.
`He said he wanted to be buried on his bike. At least we know that — he died doing the thing he loved.`
