SEX CASE NURSE IS SACKED

By Kirsteen Paterson

A SEX scandal nurse — who had an alleged affair with a mentally ill patient — has been sacked, the Reporter can reveal.

The female psychiatric nurse was accused of having a physical relationship with a man in care at the Vale’s Christie Ward.

The patient had been sectioned under mental health laws.

Health bosses launched an internal investigation after the woman’s colleagues complained to hospital managers.

The Reporter uncovered the shock news in February.

Now we can exclusively reveal that the nurse has been handed her P45 after Greater Glasgow and Clyde (GGC) completed its inquiry.

But GGC is still refusing to reveal any of its findings and is also keeping the shamed nurse’s identity under wraps.

The registered nurse was meant to be caring for vulnerable patients in the specialist Christie Ward at the Vale of Leven Hospital at the time.

Fellow staff are said to have realised that her relationship with the patient had crossed professional boundaries.

They blew the whistle to ward chiefs, but say they were treated like gossips by disbelieving bosses.

GGC only suspended the woman after staff made an official written complaint.
