My motor may not run much longer
By Andrew Gibson
Willie
An ageing Vale inventor is desperate for his revolutionary car engine design to be manufactured while he is still able to oversee the project.
And while car companies around the globe are taking a keen interest in Willie Gallacher’s UK-patented electro magnetic drive motor design, none have committed to finance the project.
The Balloch man’s design — which is an alternative to the common combustion engine — is an eco-friendly concept which has no exhaust and admits no carbon emissions.
Only this week the Reporter was contacted by an interested investor from Manchester who was eager to get in touch with Willie.
And recently a director from a major Japanese car firm has also shown interest in Willie’s design.
Although Willie is pleased with the regular contact he is maintaining with car firms, he is feeling frustrated at the lack of commitment to help.
Willie, who is in his late seventies, is hoping someone will come along and commit to building the engine block for the design which has to be made up of specialised metal.
Along with contact from engineers in Japan, China and France, Willie has also been courting the world’s media with informal chats with reporters from as far away as San Francisco.
Even legendary Channel Four news presenter Jon Snow has been in touch and has passed on Willie’s ideas to his colleagues.
However, for Willie the interest is not enough, a commitment to help make his wonderful electro magentic-powered concept would forever rev the engine of this talented inventor.
