1,000 Loch festival briefs go missing
By Ewan McInnes
ORGANISERS for Live at Loch Lomond have been hit with a double blow after a ticket theft followed news that an arrest warrant had been issued for one of their headline acts.
One thousand tickets — worth up to £90,000 — went missing just days before the festival kicks off.
And Pete Doherty allegedly failed to appear in court which led to a warrant for his arrest being issued.
The ticket consignment for the festival — which will be headlined by the Sex Pistols — was sent from Ticketmaster’s Glasgow office to a dispatch centre in Manchester.
A warrant has been issued for the arrest of Pete Doherty
But when the package arrived it was damaged and the tickets were missing.
Included in the theft were 500 Saturday day tickets and 500 weekend passes.
And fans are being warned not to buy cut-price tickets as they have been cancelled.
Ricky Magowan, festival organiser told the Reporter: “We have increased security at the event to ensure that ticket holders of the missing passes do not gain entry to the event.”
Customers will receive replacement tickets for the August 2 weekend event at Balloch Country Park.
Ticketmaster said the police have been informed and are investigating the theft.
The missing Live at Loch Lomond tickets that are no longer valid for the Saturday are coded 001001-001500,
For weekend and camping passes, the invalid codes are from 003201-003600 and 003701-003800.
Organisers also hope troubled rocker Pete Doherty will be able to make the festival after he failed to turn up at court hearing in Yeovil on Thursday and his arrest was ordered.
It is alleged he caused hundreds of pounds of damage to the camera of a female photographer.
But Ricky Magowan said: “As far as we are concerned Pete Doherty is 100 per cent committed to playing and until we hear otherwise we will presume he is.”
