Breaking news - Youth charged with attempted murder

A YOUTH has been charged with the attempted murder of another teen following a knife incident over the weekend.

Police were called to Halkett Crescent, Alexandria, in the early hours of Saturday morning (July 19) following the alleged disturbance.

Darren McCafferty, 19, appeared at Dumbarton Sheriff Court today (Tuesday July 22) in connection with the alleged murder attempt.

It is believed that the 19-year-old victim was stabbed in the head, body and arms.

He also received a laceration to the head and cuts to his arm during the alleged incident around 2.30am.

McCafferty made no plea or declaration and was released on bail.
