THIS year’s Live at Loch Lomond was deemed a success, despite a near three-hour delay for fans to get inside.

When the festival eventually kicked off on Saturday afternoon, it was evident that the weather was never going to dampen the spirits of the thousands of revellers at Balloch Country Park.

Fans were able to enjoy a variety of acts including Roisin Murphy, Groove Armada and Pete Doherty.

The ex-Libertines singer had an eventful evening at the festival where he headlined the Good Vibrations stage.

His trousers split at the rear, and it was reported he almost drowned after he and his mates tried to row a boat back across Loch Lomond after it sank 30 metres from shore.

The only disappointment of the entertainment-packed weekend came when festival-goers were left waiting for over two hours due to technical problems on the site.

Two Burgh bands, the Blue Rozes and the Shakes, played to empty crowds and both bands felt as though they had let their fans down.

Iain Gillies, lead singer of the Shakes, told the Reporter: “They wouldn’t let any of our crowd in.

“We sold 120 tickets — over £5,000 worth — for nothing because everybody was kept waiting at the door.”

Kyle Irwin, lead guitarist of the Blue Rozes, said: “The gig went really well, it just got slashed back a wee bit but it’s a good festival to play.”

Throughout the Sunday fans took in some excellent live sets including performances from Ocean Colour Scene, the Complete Stone Roses and Unkle.

The overcast weather continued throughout the day with the occasional shower of rain.

Then, there was a treat of music for fans to choose from with brilliant performances from headliners The Sex Pistols on the main stage and the Happy Mondays who headlined the Good Vibrations stage.

Both venues were rammed for each performance and it was an enjoyable end to a weekend of music.
