GRADE A pupils at the Vale of Leven Academy are looking forward to their future after securing top exam results.
The school kids opened their results, following a nervous eight-week wait, on Tuesday morning and S5’s Jordan McGill joined Ruth Greening and Rebecca Mcindoe from sixth year in achieving straight A marks.
Jordan, 16, of Bonhill, achieved the glowing marks in maths, chemistry and biology and after sitting his advanced Higher this year, he hopes to study to become a doctor.
Top pupils Ruth and Rebecca could not be separated after both achieving three As in their advanced Highers.
Ruth, 18, from Balloch, was happy that she had followed up the five As she was rewarded at Higher grade last year, and will start studying to be a vet at Glasgow University in the Autumn.
The soon-to-be fresher chose the subject because she has always had a love for animals and thinks it is a good idea to combine this with the enjoyment she gets from studying sciences.
Other top pupils at the Vale of Leven Academy were fourth year’s Emma Weir, Ainsley McDonald, Laura France and Kirsty Yule and fifth year’s Nicholas Douglas and Karen Tucker. Gus McDonald, Vale of Leven Academy headteacher, told the Reporter that he was pleased with the results his students had achieved this year.
He said: “I am pleased with this year’s results, all pupils and staff are to be congratulated on what has been a very successful year.”
