A BALACLAVA-CLAD gunman terrorised customers and staff on Saturday night as he robbed a general store.
A female member of staff was stacking shelves when the raider approached her and pointing a silver-coloured handgun with a black handle at her demanding cash.
He then pointed the weapon at two terrified members of staff behind the counter at the Morning, Noon & Night store in Tullichewan.
The petrified pair handed over the cash.
The incident — which only lasted about a minute — is believed to have been caught on the store’s CCTV and police are reviewing the tapes in the search for clues.
A customer was also left shaken after the incident, which occurred around 9.15pm on Tullichewan Drive.
It is not known whether the gun was real or a replica.
The thief fled the shop after grabbing the cash and disappeared in the direction of McCulloch Lane.
Malcom Brown, head of corporate communications at Morning Noon & Night told the Reporter: “Our main concern is not money it’s staff.
“Armed robberies are not overly common but I don’t care if it’s a metal bar or a gun, it’s traumatic when someone points a gun at you and these people need to be caught quickly.
“Nobody should go through these experiences when they’re at work."
