CRAIG SAYS THANK YOU
By GARE CLYDE
SONS veteran Craig Brittain has said thank you to everyone who supported his recent testimonial golf challenge.
He said: `I could not speak about it before and was under instruction from Robert Ryan not to do so.
`But he managed me well and I cannot speak too highly enough about Robert who organised my testimonial so professionally. He was brilliant.
` I would like to also thank, most sincerely, Susan Taylor, Douglas Taylor, Colin Lawrie, Cliff Jones and Hamish White and if I have missed anyone out I apologise for that, but they were all great people.`
Now that it is all over Craig can speak out and his lips are no longer sealed.
He added: ` I have been bursting at the seams to say a very big and grateful thank you to all the people who organised my testimonial year and it was so frustrating that, until now, Robert kept me firmly in check.
`The way they organised it was just so fantastic and I know that they worked very hard for me. This is just the good news I now want to spread now that I am free to do so.`
Craig will be with the Sons next season. He signed a new contract last Friday and wants to continue playing. Manager Gerry McCabe offered him a coaching job, but he feels he should put that on the back burner for future consideration once his playing days are over.
But the gaffer asked me if I would help out meantime with coaching and I certainly will do that.
