SUPPORTERS literally saw a game of two halves on Saturday with a final score of Rangers 3 Vale of Leven 1.

For the Alex Lacy testimonial match, Vale of Leven played two different sets of players in each half, with the first half side made up mainly of guests and the second half consisting of Vale’s young first team for 2007/08.

Alex said: “I would like to thank Scott McKernan, Peter Dennison and Craig Mullholland for organising the game and Craig for bringing Rangers along for the match.

“It was a great turn-out of supporters and I was delighted with that and hopefully they can come back regularly during the season coming up.

“I am raring to go for the season and winning 1-0 with the second half team shows and the young boys that have come into the squad played well.

“In the first half, guys like Peter McLean who are in their 40s were playing as guests but the difference showed in the second half and it ended up a great day all round.”

An interested spectator was ex-Rangers and Spurs striker, Gordon Durie, whose son Scott is a central defender with the young Rangers side and an under-16 Scotland internationalist.
