DOUBLE WIN FOR KIDS

JUNIOR members of Vale of Leven Golf Club had a successful day at a recent Open tournament.

Played on August 9 at Clydebank and District Golf Club the third Hardgate Junior Open attracted more than 90 junior players from all over the county.

As a result competition was fierce and the popular event was split into age groups with a home win in the 10-12 group when Chris MacLean won with a score of 66.

The 13-15 age group was won by Thomas Devaney from Windyhill with a terrific score of 62 and the 16-18 to age group was won by Graeme Watt from the Vale of Leven.

The girl’s prize was won by Nicola Ferguson from Clober with a score of 68, while the best scratch score of the day was Michael Eyton from Dumbarton with a score of 71

Winner of the Hardgate Junior Open for 2007 was James Gowdie from the Vale with a superb score of 61 to make it a double for the Alexandria club.
