Valley bounce back in style
Leven Valley Amatuers 7 Glenburn 0
VALLEY bounced back in style with a great league win following midweek disappointment.
The team had lucked out in their cup semi-final, cruelly losing to an own goal.
But the goals were flowing at the other end on Saturday, as Valley cemented second spot.
Despite having just 11 available players, they romped past a sorry Glenburn outfit.
Muir opened the scoring 15 minutes and they were further ahead not long after as McCallum found the back of the net.
It was three by half-time, Gillies having volleyed in from a Young corner.
The second half started in the same manner, with the home side pushing forward at every opportunity and pinning Glenburn back into their own half.
Striker Porter Smith was forced off with a cut to his eye after a clash of heads, forcing Valley to continue with 10 men. The numerical disadvantage did little to dent their dominance and McCallum struck his second before Granger added the fifth from the penalty spot.
Muir scored his second with 10 minutes left and the rout was complete when McCallum sealed his hat-trick with the last kick of the ball.
Following a game against Erskine last night (Monday), Valley play third placed CWS Transport away on Saturday.
