A re-enactment and living history show of the 17th Century Battle at Luss, Loch Lomond took place over the Easter weekend.

Attendance was lower than organisers had hoped due to the bad weather. Participants and spectators were faced with rain and gales on the Saturday and experienced a cold and breezy Sunday making conditions very wet underfoot.

The re-enactment ran close to plan although a few modifications had to be made.

Reenactors travelled hundreds of miles to attend the event and take part in a battle. They paraded to the Fames Field from Luss Car Park on both days.

They were led by Helensburgh Clan Colquhoun Pipe Band on the Sunday and despite the weather spirits were high.

The weather meant that it wasn’t possible for the public races to go ahead but the Easter Bunny made an appearance with Easter eggs for all the children on the Sunday.

After an appeal for volunteers many Luss Estates personnel and members of the public volunteered to assist, for which organisers are very grateful.

Jan Pearson, organiser said: “Despite the damp weather the re-enactment “part deux” was a spectacle for all to watch – the Clan Museum website www.theclanmuseum.co.uk will be updated very shortly with many photos of the event for all to enjoy.”
