PUPILS at a primary school in the Vale shone brightly as they starred in a colourful stage performance recently.

St Kessog’s Primary pupils staged their own spectacular performance of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. Their excellent production of the Andrew Lloyd Weber blockbusting musical came as a result of a lot of hard work on the part of pupils and staff.

There were break-a-leg wishes exchanged between the all-singing all-dancing cast members as they each took to the stage. The packed audience were enthralled by the fantastic acting, singing and dancing of the pupils at the Balloch school, some of whom looked as if they had been treading the boards for years.

The youngsters, who showed little sign of nerves, had been rehearsing for quite some time to make sure the production went off as smoothly as possible. Parents, families and friends of the school were left delighted and enthralled by the musical extravaganza.

The school's P6 and 7 pupils formed the cast, while P4 and P5 pupils lent their voices to make made up the show's supporting choir.

One proud parent said “Huge congratulations to the staff and pupils of St Kessog’s Primary. I have just been to see their production of Joseph and the Technicolor Dreamcoat, what an amazing show, such talented kids and dedicated staff, well done to your all. West Dunbartonshire Council should be extremely proud of you all”
