ScotRail has suspended trains destined for Glasgow's Central Station this morning after a fault with overhead electrical wires.
Services are not expected to be running until noon after the fault was discovered during rushhour, at around 7am.
Multiple main routes and local services are affected including Neilston, Cathcart Circle, Kilmarnock, Clarkston, East Kilbride, Newton, Cambuslang and Motherwell.
Other routes are affected include Edinburgh, Aberdeen and Inverness.
ScotRail is running bus shuttle service between Neilston and Barrhead for disrupted passengers.
A ScotRail spokesperson said: “There are overhead wire problems which are affecting access to five platforms.
"Engineers are on site to diagnose and repair. It’s not possible to say how long disruption to services will last.”
“Customers should retain their tickets as the nature of this disruption means they may be entitled to compensation through our Delay Repay scheme.”
