A MAN has been arrested in connection with nine thefts and reported to the procurator fiscal for a further 31 incidents that took place in Old Kilpatrick and Clydebank over nearly eight weeks.
Police carried out an operation on Thursday following appeals for information into the "significant" number of thefts between May 6 and June 29.
A 29-year-old man was reported to the procurator fiscal for 40 alleged crimes.
A 33-year-old woman has also been arrested in connection with eight alleged thefts.
Inspector David Quinn of the Community Policing Team at Clydebank said: “We are committed to cracking down on crime in the local community and I would urge anyone who notices any suspicious activity or who has information on crimes to contact their local office.
“I would also like to remind the public to always ensure that their windows and doors are locked when they leave the house and always keep valuables out of sight."
