POLICE are continuing their appeal for information to help catch the man behind the rape of a 16-year-old girl in Balloch.

He had a on a black rucksack and was riding a red mountain bike with either “Firefox” or “Fox” on the frame.

A Reclaim the Night walk will set out at 7pm tonight in the area with dozens of residents expected to attend. The march will start outside Boots on Main Street and travel along Stephen Street, Gray Street and Suzannah Street, near where the attack on the 49-year-old took place on August 16.

The organising page states: “This event is for the women of West Dunbartonshire to march in protest against the horrendous sex attack which happened in our town and also to show solidarity to the victim who has been left both physically and mentally scarred.

“If we stand together we can help to end rape culture and make the streets a safer place for all women.”

Organisers are looking for extra volunteer stewards for the event tonight, see the Facebook page “Reclaim the Night; End All Violence Against Women” for details.
