Thousands came to the banks of Loch Lomond at the weekend to enjoy a packed festival.

Balmaha’s Braw Weekend was organised by Loch Lomond business The Oak Tree Inn and supported by Loch Lomond and The Trossachs National Park and EventScotland, a team within VisitScotland Event Directorate.

The festival started on Friday with a five-course meal, prepared by some of Scotland’s leading chefs and served in a marquee by the loch.

The daytime events drew large crowds for a mix of live entertainment, food and drink demonstrations and attractions. Saturday night featured live music from Dave Arcari, Have Mercy Las Vegas, Miracle Glass Company, and Mark McGowan.

Stuart Fraser, of The Oak Tree Inn, said: "Our months of hard work preparing for the festival was rewarded by some amazing weather and a brilliant atmosphere.

"We enjoy huge support for the event, with tickets for our new Friday night dinner selling out in just a few days, and this year even more people visited the festival both during the day and on Saturday night for the live music."

Paul Bush OBE, director of events at VisitScotland, added: “2016 has been another successful year for Balmaha’s Braw Weekend, with the event attracting thousands of visitors to enjoy the fantastic entertainment, and food and drink on offer.

"Scotland is the perfect stage for cultural events and in Balmaha we have a great family-friendly festival set against the stunning backdrop of Loch Lomond, which will no doubt bring significant benefits to the area.”
