WEST Dunbartonshire walkers have cause to celebrate as they reached a special milestone and anniversary all in one week.
Health Walks West Dunbartonshire, with the support of the Volunteer Walk Leaders, have celebrated their two year anniversary and their incredible 200th walk, which took place from Old Kilpatrick to Bowling on Monday, October 10.
With more walks and routes planned for the future - ranging from 15 minutes long for beginners up to one hour for more experienced walker - the group are encouraging everyone to put on their walking shoes and take a hike to stay healthy.
All walks are led by volunteers and combine physical activity with an opportunity for social contact and support in a local community. There are currently walks in Alexandria, Clydebank, and Old Kilpatrick, as well as walks down to Bowling.
Project coordinator Daren Borzynski said: “Reaching two hundred walks in the last two years has only been made possible by the efforts of the volunteer walk leaders and the walkers that return every week to participate”
Health Walks are free and open to anyone that wants to take their first step towards a more active and healthier lifestyle. Contact West Dunbartonshire CVS for more information on how to take part or to become a trained walk leader.
