The cream of the West Dunbartonshire sporting community helped raise more than £600 for Balloch's Robin House.

The money was collected at the West Dunbartonshire Community Sports Awards ceremony, which was held in Clydebank in October.

The cheque was handed over by Henry Ainslie, editor of the Reporter and Clydebank Post, which hosted the awards. He was assisted by Cllr John Millar, West Dunbartonshire's depute provost.

Mr Ainslie said: "Everyone at Robin House does fantastic work for families in this community and beyond at a time when they need support the most.

"It is an honour to hand over this small but valuable token of our appreciation, and I hope it will contribute in some way to the fantastic work done at Robin House.

"I'd like to thank everyone who attended the West Dunbartonshire Community Sports Awards for their generosity."

Scott Maxwell, community fundraiser for Robin House, added: "We were really delighted with the support from those guys. They were one of the first visitors we had up after the refurb and it was great to show them around and let them see how helpful their support is and what they make possible.

"We have so many families who will be able to benefit from this and, again, we're just so grateful for the support.

"It was a £1.2m project and we're getting more families than ever now so it was all about improving the facilities for them."
