A MAN was stabbed during at attack by three men at his home in Dumbarton.

Detectives are appealing for information following the serious assault in the early hours of Saturday.

Around 12.15am a 27 year-old man was within his home in Brucehill Road when he heard a knock at the door.

When he answered the door, he was attacked by three men, who were unknown to him.

The three men then made off from the property and the victim was taken to the Royal Alexandra Hospital for treatment to stab wounds.

Officers are looking to speak to three men who have been captured on CCTV in the area around the time of the incident.

They are described as being in their 30s and one of the men appears to be walking with a limp.

Detective Sergeant Fiona Macarthur from Clydebank CID said: "This man was violently attacked on his own doorstep and it is absolutely crucial that we trace the people responsible as soon as possible.

"I would like to speak to anyone who was in the area in the early hours of this morning and saw three men or anything suspicious.
