DOZENS of green-fingered garden lovers will gather in Dumbarton on March 25 for this year’s ‘Growing West Dunbartonshire’ Spring event.

Members of community groups with interests in community food growing, allotments, and gardens, will meet at the Concord Centre in Dumbarton to share information and establish a support network where they can help each other achieve their community growing and gardening aims.

The event will also include seeding demonstrations, as well as discussions around funding for starting a community garden/allotment. The Royal Horticultural Society will be providing sow and grow workshops and Scottish Fruit Trees will be providing advice on the planting and maintenance of fruit trees.

The Growing West Dunbartonshire forum was established by the The Leamy Foundation and WDC Greenspace Community Involvement in Neighbourhoods project. The forum helps groups from right across West Dunbartonshire to share advice and to run and enjoy their own gardening or growing group in their community.

The event will run from 10am until 1pm.
