THE Children's Hospice Association Scotland (CHAS) are looking for adventurers to take on an Arctic trek and raise a cool £3,500.

CHAS, who have hospice in Balloch, has teamed up with events company Breaking Strain to provide this opportunity for budding adventurers and to raise funds to help them provide vital hospice care services for babies, children and young people who have life shortening conditions.

In addition to the tougher side of the challenge, there will be the opportunity to tick off a few popular bucket list items; see some of the world’s most breath taking scenery and glistening snowdrifts, spend a night in the Arctic Snow Hotel, you could catch a glimpse of the Northern Lights…but there is no guarantee that you will get to meet Santa Claus when you visit Rovaniemi – his official home town that celebrates Christmas every day of the year.

Outdoor Events Coordinator for CHAS, Scott Maxwell said: “How many people do you know can say that they’ve conquered the Arctic!? This really is a unique challenge and such a brave and inspiring way to raise money for CHAS. Your cold feet, but warm heart, will allow us to help make every moment matter for families with a very sick child. ”

The Artic challenge takes place 1-6 February 2018. Participants pay a non-refundable deposit of £350 at the time of booking and will complete an agreement to fund raise a minimum of £3,500 for CHAS. There are key fundraising milestones each participant must meet throughout 2017.

A self-funded trip with no minimum sponsorship is also available.

The deadline for entries is March 31. To receive more information or an application form email teamCHAS@chas.org.uk.
