A 43 year-old man required hospital treatment after he was the victim of an unprovoked attack in Alexandria.
It's understood the man was walking along a pathway in Russell Street, around 11pm on Thursday, April 13, when he was set upon by someone armed with a blunt object and seriously assaulted.
The victim was struck on the face and suffered two lacerations to his forehead.
It's understood that the victim required stitches to his wound after attending hospital the following day.
Police are appealing for anyone with information to contact them on 101 or alternatively, information can be passed on to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 where anonymity can be maintained.
