This Morning presenter Philip Schofield caused a stir last week as he spent some time off walking around Loch Lomond with his family.

Some local fans managed to grab a chat and a picture with the host, with many taking to social media to react to the sighting.

Jenna Biddulph, 16, from Alexandria, was one of those who managed to meet the TV host.

She said: "We met him up at Balloch Castle after over an hour of running about trying to find him. He and his wife were so polite and asked us questions about the castle, Luss, the loch and some of the local areas.

"We spoke to him for a while about school and his career and then he wished us well for our studying and exams. He was even kind enough to record a quick video for my granny who wasn't able to come."

Another who managed to meet the presenter on his trip around the Loch was 27-year-old Jennifer Docherty from Alexandria.

She told the Reporter: "I didn't really speak to him much, I just said hello because I was so star struck and then he started laughing before getting us all in for a quick selfie."

"There was a bit of a crowd but he made sure that he made time for everyone and have a picture with them. He was telling us that he was on tour and how great it was to meet everyone that had come out.

"He's as funny and sweet in real life as he is on TV and as I said, I was just star struck."

Schofield has been touring the country on social media ahead of appearing in Edinburgh at the end of the month as part of new variety show 'The Knights of Music', where he will perform a number of songs alongside a range of West End performers and a big band.

He wasn't the only famous face from TV making an appearance at the Loch over the weekend, with Coronation Street star Helen Flanagan and her boyfriend, Celtic striker Scott Sinclair, taking baby Matilda out for a trip to the Cameron House Hotel.

Posting on her Instagram, the actress said that her cruise around the loch was a "breathtaking" and "amazing" experience.
