PRIMARY school children in West Dunbartonshire are getting top tips in how to harness their gardening skills.

For a combination of community groups and volunteers are out and about at a variety of schools, providing horticultural masterclasses.

A spokesperson for one of the groups, The Leamy Foundation, said: "In the past couple of weeks, our volunteers, alongside our good friends from Bellsmyre Community Gardens and WDC Greenspace, have been busy supporting the Primary Schools Sow and Grow Project, building raised beds, emptying old ones and filling them with soil, as well as all the other garden jobs required to get the growing spaces ready.

"So far, they have been to Our Holy Redeemer School in Clydebank, Gartocharn Primary, Ferryfield Nursery in Alexandria and Vale of Leven Academy.

"And that's just for starters! There's more to come!"
