Glasgow author Angela Proctor brought some magic to Aitkenbar Primary as she introduced her Thumble Tumble book series to pupils.

The latest release – Thumble Tumble and the Cauldron of Undry – is the second in the eight-book series following the adventures of a little witch from the Isle of Arran.

Ms Proctor visited the Dumbarton primary school as part of a tour of almost 100 schools to inspire children in storytelling and to get their own imaginations flowing with stories and ideas.

During the visit, the author read a chapter of the latest book, before leading the kids on an “imagination challenge”, where the children are tasked with creating their own spells and potions.

Ms Proctor said: “I just love visiting schools to read to the children, it’s ultimately what inspires me to continue penning the Thumble Tumble adventures.

“The children showed the most amazing creativity at devising the Amazing Shrinking Potion and as always, my willing helpers made it all the more fun.”
