A Dumbarton shopping centre’s charity coffee morning is set to fundraise for another local organisation- as they gear up to host free activities in aid of the local mountain rescue.

Volunteers at Artizan Shopping Centre’s Community Hub are set to support Lomond Mountain Rescue Team at their next three coffee mornings from Friday, 30 June with colouring activities for parents and their children and free refreshments, including tea, coffee and cakes.

Founded in 1967, the Lomond Mountain Rescue Team assists walkers, climbers and tourists over 100 square miles in Loch Lomond and The Trossachs National Park.

Morven Keady, volunteer at Artizan’s Community Hub, said she is thrilled to be showing their support for another local charity.

She said: “Previously, we have hosted our coffee mornings in aid of the Children’s Hospice Association Scotland and Scotland’s Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, so with the national park just five miles away we thought this was the perfect opportunity to fundraise for another charity.

“Throughout the upcoming mornings, visitors will be able to enjoy free refreshments, which are specially made by the volunteers in the Community Hub, as well as a children’s competition to draw their very own mountain rescue team, which will go on display in the hub. We have also invited the rescue experts to visit the hub and to speak about what they do, how to get involved and how the donations will help them to continue their important service.

“Plus, visitors will of course have a chance to browse the crafts stalls and art exhibitions.

“We hope everyone has a brilliant time at the first coffee morning in aid of Lomond Mountain Rescue on Friday and we look forward to seeing everyone enjoying what’s on offer at the Community Hub.”

Volunteers from Artizan’s Community Hub will be fundraising for Lomond Mountain Rescue at their monthly coffee mornings on Friday, 30 June, Friday, 28 July and Friday, 25 August.
