A slice of Love Island will be heading to Dumbarton as one half of the show’s winning couple visits a local nightspot.

Cheers Nightclub is to host a special evening with Kem Cetinay, one of the winners of the smash-hit ITV2 show, with organisers already reporting that tickets for the night on September 15 are nearly sold out.

Jonathan Donnelly, Cheers manager, said: “Love Island really took off this year with a lot of young people and we didn’t think we’d get the response that we’ve got so far, and tickets are nearly sold out for the night already.

“It’s definitely the biggest and busiest night we’ve had so far.”

The 21-year-old hairdresser from Essex landed the £50,000 top prize on the show alongside fellow winner Amber Davies.

He was one of the stars of the show, with viewers enjoying his “cheeky chappy” personality and on-screen “bromance” with fellow contestant Chris – with the pair signed up for a spin-off series together.

Since the show’s conclusion, both Kem and Amber have signed up to modelling contracts and a series of public appearances, including this latest event at Cheers.

Mr Donnelly added: “We actually had the pick of the cast before the end of the series through the events company and we picked Kem, so it’s good that it came about that he’s won.

“People seemed to really like him because he was a cheeky chap and so we thought he would be good for what we had in mind.”

The venue has already hosted a number of famous faces, including wrestler and former River City actor Grado and stars from MTV reality show Geordie Shore, with the venue hosting evenings with celebrity presenters and DJ sets.

Mr Donnelly said that plans for the night’s activities were still in the pipeline, but promised an entertaining night for those in attendance.

He added: “We’ll hopefully be able to get Kem up on stage and ask him about his time on the show and maybe play some games as well.

“It’ll be more entertaining than him simply standing on stage, and we’ll get him involved in a meet and greet. We’ll make sure that the paying customer on the night get their money’s worth.”

Tickets for the event, which runs from 11.30pm to 3am, are available on Skiddle. No under 18s.
