MSP Jackie Baillie has urged Transport Minister, Humza Yousaf MSP, to get on with transferring the Kilcreggan ferry service to the Scottish Government after a summer of chaos for local passengers.

Users of the lifeline service have faced disruption on a monthly basis since June with the ferry being suspended for days at a time due to failed safety inspections and staff shortages.

Ms Baillie met the Transport Minister alongside Nick Davies, the Convener of Cove and Kilcreggan Community Council at the Scottish Parliament recently.

Ms Baillie said: "This was a welcome opportunity to highlight the very real impact on local passengers and ensure that the Transport Minister has a proper understanding of the chaotic mismanagement of the Kilcreggan ferry service under Clydelink.

"The disruption that local passengers have experienced over the last few days is completely unacceptable."
