A weather warning remains in place until this afternoon for Dumbarton and the Vale as ex-hurricane Ophelia brings winds of up to 80mph to the region.

Train services have been disrupted by the wind and rain and residents have been warned that power cuts may occur and mobile phone coverage may be disrupted.

A Met Office yellow warning is in place for the central belt of Scotland, including the Strathclyde area, and is set to stay in place until 3pm today.

If you are travelling by train today it is advised to check your journey in advance on the Scotrail website as a number of lines have been affected by storm damage including the Balloch to Airdrie route.
