RENTON Primary School is celebrating an award win.

The school is to be bestowed with a silver Sport Scotland award for their efforts in keeping children active.

A school spokesperson said: “We are delighted to announce that we have been awarded a a silver Sport Scotland award in recognition of our work in physical education.

“We would love to aim for a gold award but we cannot do it alone.

“We would love to hear from anyone who would like to volunteer to support the school by becoming involved in after school sports activities.

“If you think you can help please contact the school office. We can offer support in completing PVG disclosure. Thank you.”

Elsewhere, the school’s language unit has dug deep for charity.

The school’s P5 and P6 pupils were involved in a Macmillan fundraising morning and the event helped raise a healthy sum.

A school spokesperson said: “A huge well done to our P5/6 pupils, who with the support of our families, raised £524 for MacMillan!

“Thank you to everyone who baked, donated or visited the school.

“It is a a fantastic total that everyone involved is proud of.”
