LABOUR MSP Mary Fee has calls for support to extend the opportunity of apprenticeships to all.
Ms Fee, who represents the West Scotland region, said that more assistance is needed to help more women, disabled, black and ethnic minority young people gain the highest level of modern apprentice qualifications in Scotland.
During a debate in the Scottish Parliament, Ms Fee also welcomed new figures showing the Scottish Government has met its target to reduce youth unemployment by 40 per cent, four years earlier than planned.
She said: “The Scottish Government must act now to improve the opportunities for female, disabled and BME young people and improve the opportunities for these apprentices to take on the highest levels and achieve their potential.”
