THE highly popular West Dunbartonshire Leisure 10K and its associated Fun Run is returning on June 2.

The event, hosted by West Dunbartonshire Leisure Trust, is a continuation of the Polaroid Eyewear Vale of Leven 10k, which was successfully organised for 30 years.

Angus MacDonald, sports development officer at the trust, said: “We are excited about the return of the Vale of Leven 10K and Fun Run due to take place on Saturday, June 2.

“I hope that this year will be bigger and better than 2017.

“Entries will be open soon for this great family event, so keep an eye on our Facebook page Vale of Leven 10K.”

The 10K will start in the Moss O’Balloch site and every runner will receive a t-shirt, race medal and a goodie bag containing gifts, water, chocolate bar and discount vouchers for local services and attractions.

Last year’s event in June was a huge success, with more than 570 entrants pounding the streets and braving the rain for the 10K, in front of a huge crowd, who lined the pavements to back the runners.

The pre-school and school age fun run, which is open to parents with babies in buggies up to primary seven age children, will also start in the Moss O’Balloch area, with all participants finishing through the 10K finishing gantry.

The course will also be well marshalled.
