A new campaign aimed at raising recycling rates by changing attitudes and making the process second nature to residents has been launched by West Dunbartonshire Council.
Currently, 46,500 households in West Dunbartonshire recycle 49 per cent of their waste, but the new campaign aims to bring this figure closer to 70 per cent of household waste by 2025.
To highlight how all recyclable items go through a process to be re-used, the campaign includes the slogan “We Wanna Do It All Again,” as if spoken by the items themselves, which will appear on posters and banners over the coming weeks, with social media messaging also planned.
Councillor Iain McLaren, convener of infrastructure, regeneration and economic development, said: “We really appreciate the efforts of our residents when it comes to recycling, but we also know that some simple changes in how we dispose of waste can have a massive impact financially for the Council and, of course, it also plays a huge role in protecting our environment.”
