PUPILS and teachers have expressed their delight as the Balloch Campus opened its doors yesterday.
Youngsters from Haldane and Jamestown Primary have amalgamated into the new campus under head teacher Karen Hollerin.
She told the Reporter the pupils were ecstatic with the new £16million building on the former St Kessog’s Primary site, who will also be housed in the campus.
Ms Hollerin added: “We are so delighted with our new school. The children are going to love it.
“It was brilliant to see their faces this morning. We can’t wait to get started.”
An early learning centre and additional needs unit will also call the new building home.
The campus was due to open last year but unexpected problems saw developers delayed.
But it seems the building was worth the wait.
Jan Campbell, acting head of the early learning centre, said: “We’re delighted with the outdoor space.
“It’s a new and wonderful environment for our children.”
