A spring family party night in Castlehill is now sold out after parents rushed to snap-up 110 tickets in just three days.

The free event at St Michael’s Church Hall takes place on Friday and promises to be packed full of fun with party games, a disco and a buffet all lined up.

Ten tickets were held back during the first three days, but all 120 are now sold and there is a waiting list for people who haven’t managed to get their hands on some of the tickets.

Organiser Janice O’Connor, who works as community coordinator for the Corra Foundation, said: “I wanted to bring the community together, so thought it would be a good idea to put on a family night.

“It’s about trying to get people interested in community things, get them together and trying to reconnect people in the Easter holidays and having a laugh.

“There will be party games and three big mascots to entertain the younger ones. It will be very interactive and mums and dads will need to go up for some games.”

A local dancing group from Castlehill will be doing a display and there will be a raffle with prizes such as local takeaway vouchers and food hampers.

The buffet also promises to be a highlight with Morrisons donating hot dogs and Dominoes providing pizzas on the night.

Janice hopes this week’s event will lead to even more with a summer picnic in the pipeline.
