DEAF Dumbarton residents have been invited to obtain specialist welfare advice at up and coming weekly charity-run sessions.

The charity’s staff can provide information about a range of benefits including Job Seekers Allowance (JSA), Employment and Support Allowance (ESA), Disability Living Allowance (DLA), Personal Independence Payment (PIP), Housing Benefit and Universal Credit.

Laura Shand, Action on Hearing Loss Scotland’s welfare rights manager, said: “If you are deaf or have hearing loss, live in Dumbarton and need some help to understand the processes about applying for support you may be entitled to, or are confused about letters you have received regarding your benefits, we would be delighted to welcome you at our drop-in session in Action on Hearing Loss Scotland.”

The drop-in session will take place in Empire House, 131 West Nile St, Glasgow, G1 2RX between 10am-12noon on Monday, April 16 and will give local deaf people the chance to discuss any queries, claims or appeals regarding social security benefits.
