THE A82 will close for 10 hours on three separate days from tonight while urgent works are carried out.

The major road will close northbound and southbound between the Stoneymollan and Lomondgate roundabouts while additional waterproofing works are carried on the A82 Leven Bridge.

Scotland TranServ said the closures will be between 8pm and 6am on Friday, April 20, Monday, April 23 and Tuesday, April 24.

Diversion routes will be as follows:

• Southbound traffic will leave the A82 trunk road at Stoneymollan roundabout turning on to the A811 Lomond road, Balloch then turning on to the A813 Stirling road to re-join the southbound A82 trunk road at the Lomondgate roundabout. Northbound trunk road traffic will leave the A82 trunk road at the Lomondgate roundabout and follow the above direction in reverse.

• There will be no access to the southbound carriageway of the A82 trunk road at Renton with traffic diverted via A812 Renton Rd, A814 Glasgow Rd, round the roundabout in central Dumbarton, returning on the A814 Glasgow Rd, along the A812 Renton Rd and B857 where traffic will join the relevant diversion noted above.

The northbound approach to Lomondgate will also feature a Lane 2 closure to reduce lanes down on approach.

A Scotland TranServ spokeswoman said: "We can appreciate the frustration that may occur over such short notice closure of a road closure and we will continue to work with stakeholders to minimise any disruption."
