The area’s musically-talented youngsters united to entertain a packed Clydebank Town Hall recently for the West Dunbartonshire Instrumental Music Service’s Spring Concert.

The concert featured stirring performances from the five main authority-wide ensembles: The Training Concert Band, The Training String Orchestra, The Senior Concert Band, the Senior String Ensemble and the Funk sKool.

The Vale of Leven Academy Brass Ensemble and the Our Lady and St Patrick’s High School Choir also took to the stage at the March 22 event.

Solo talent was also given a platform on the night, with performances from singer Caitlin O’Sullivan, flautist Sophie Morris, Lewis Morgan on the trombone, and Bronwyn Stewart on the euphonium.

Neil McAllister, senior instructor at the Instrumental Music Service, told the Reporter: “The concert was exceptionally well received by the near sell-out audience, and I have received many messages of congratulations since.”
