The show will go on as Dumbarton People’s Theatre finally get to raise the curtain on their production of J.B, Priestley’s “Dangerous Corner” this week.

The curtain was ready to be raised on the show back on February 28 – but the appearance of the “Beast from the East” put the club’s hard work on hold. The venue, Denny Civic Theatre, had to close due to the weather and audiences were stuck at home.

But now rehearsals are back in full swing, and the dismantled scenery and lighting have been rebuilt for the famous murder mystery and psychological drama.

The play is set at a country house party in 1932, where secrets are revealed, sending characters’ lives into an intriguing spiral.

The director is Susan Anderson and the cast includes Kenny McLean, Stephen Watt, Luke Gregory, Christina Crook, Megan Gall, Lou Barnes and Tricia Connelly.

“Dangerous Corner” will open on Wednesday, April 25 and run until Saturday, April 28 in the Denny Civic Theatre, with curtain up at 7.30pm.

Tickets cost £5 and are available from McDermid’s Keystore, DPT Members, at the Box Office.
