Resurfacing and waterproofing works on the A82 at Leven Bridge will NOT be complete in time for the area’s huge Kiltwalk event this weekend.

As part of Transport Scotland’s trunk road maintenance programme, Scotland TranServ have been carrying out the “essential” works between Stoneymollan Roundabout and Lomondgate Roundabout.

The trunk road has been operating under contraflow while the works take place.

But Scotland TranServe say that “adverse weather conditions” and “the extent of required structural concrete deck repairs” have meant the works will not be tied up before the popular charity walking event, which attracts thousands of participants, takes place on Sunday, April 29.

Alternative routes will be put in place for the event’s duration.

In a statement, Scotland TranServe said: “We can appreciate the frustration these ongoing essential maintenance repairs may cause to the general public, hauliers and for this charitable event.

“For this reason, in order to reduce further disruption, alternative routes will be in place for the duration of the Kiltwalk event.”
