THE Scottish SPCA is asking animal lovers to donate sensitive and hypoallergenic food and also wood pellet cat litter to help the abused, abandoned and injured animals currently in the care of its Dumbarton Animal Rescue and Rehoming Centre.

The centre is struggling to keep up with demand as they’re going through their supplies very quickly.

Centre manager Joe McDade said, “We’re caring for a large number of dogs and cats at the moment and as a result we’re going through food and cat litter really quickly and we’d be grateful if locals could lend their support.

“We are very lucky that people regularly hand in items to our centre and we currently have lots of donated food for our other animals.

“We would greatly appreciate any donations of sensitive and hypoallergenic food as it is great for the dogs in our care with sensitive stomachs.

“If anyone wants to donate or meet some of the animals in our care, including Meg and Jeff the dogs, they can do so by dropping in anytime between 10am and 4pm (closed Tuesday).”

Donations can be sent via the charity’s Amazon Wishlist: http://amzn.eu/dsX5tLZ or handed in to the charity’s Dunbartonshire centre on Dumbarton Road, Milton.
