A SHERIFF has told a Dumbarton man to “grab with both hands” any help he is given for his drug addiction.

Ryan Grace, 27, of Caledonia Terrace, appeared at Dumbarton Sheriff Court last week after pleading guilty to being in possession of heroin at Clydebank police office, on March 5, 2016.

Eighteen days later on March 23, at Morrison’s, Glasgow Road, Dumbarton, Grace assaulted a man by punching him of the head and causing him to fall to the ground.

On the same day, at Dumbarton Health Centre, Station Road, he resisted arrest and struggled with two police officers.

Sheriff Maxwell Hendry deferred sentence until July 4.

The sheriff told Grace: “If you are lucky enough to be re-admitted to Safe as Houses then grab it with both hands. They will offer you the help you need.”

The sheriff ordered a progress report. He was ordained to appear.
